1850 · The beginning

Apple wine from our own press.

In 1850, gardener Schneider began serving his own freshly pressed apple wine. With no tavern of his own, he simply cleared out the family living room. It soon became a gathering place.

1900 · A name is born

Dauth meets Schneider.

The marriage of Johanna Schneider and Carl Dauth gave the tavern, previously known as “Lieber Alter”, its present name. In 2000, the fifth generation celebrated the restaurant's 150th anniversary.

Since 2003 · Fresh ideas

People keep tradition alive.

Klaus Borsch and Paul O’Sullivan took over the historic tavern in 2003. Bringing fresh ideas and years of experience, they continued to develop Dauth-Schneider.

After Klaus Borsch retired in 2015, Paul O’Sullivan remained at the heart of the kitchen. Together with his wife and daughters, the tavern became a family business, cherishing its traditions while staying open to new ideas.
